Things are starting to spring into action at the Gardens. We have been busy planning and organizing the Spring bustle including the Spring Plant Sale, Landscape Consulting, Kitchen Garden plots, and the All-America Selections (AAS) annual display gardens.

Our Spring Plant Sale will be held online with member ordering starting May 2nd at 9:00 am, and public ordering starting May 5th. Check out the 48 perennial varieties that will be available on our website! Mark your calendars and start your wish lists today!

If you are looking to enhance or install gardens in your landscape but need advice on where to plant some of the unique plant varieties, consider booking a Landscape Consultation this Spring. Our Horticulturist will start booking consultations within the Wausau area once the snow melts. If you are interested in finding out more about this service, or want to book a consultation, check out our website for more information.

Sprouting plants from the ground in spring

Volunteers will be planting about 1,000 annuals and vegetables for the Kitchen Garden and AAS display gardens.  Keep an eye out in May for annual planting days for the All-America Selections display garden. If you would like to help create “A Whimsical” garden display for this year’s Landscape Design Challenge, we would love to see your creativity! We are also looking for a few more groups or individuals to take on Kitchen Garden plots. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact info@monkgardens.org to get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator.

Spring is a time of growth and rejuvenation, and we would love to celebrate it with you at the Gardens. Join in on the fun at Wausau’s Happy place by visiting, becoming a member, donating, volunteering, or participating in the upcoming events. See you out in the Gardens soon!
