Also known as Galanthus, is a small genus of approximately 20 species of bulbous perennial herbaceous plants in the family Amaryllidaceae. They are one of the earliest bloomers in the garden. Snowdrops have a single small drooping bell-shaped flower with six petal-like tepals that form two circles. The flower colors range from purple to white. Their distinctive glossy grass-like leaves, and short stature create a dainty display amongst the forest floor. Snowdrops can be found in the Wildflower Woods in Spring.
