Monk Botanical Gardens Announces Search for Executive Director
Search occurs as organization seeks to grow board of directors, undergoes capital improvements
WAUSAU – The Board of Directors of Monk Botanical Gardens of Wausau has announced a concerted effort to both expand the size of the organization’s managing board and to also fill the now-vacant position of the Garden’s Executive Director. Both objectives are being undertaken as the organization seeks additional ways to serve the greater Wausau community and be responsive to the needs of the Garden’s visitors and donors while also continuing to honor the Monk family legacy.
“Monk Botanical Gardens continues to be a premiere destination within our community and our staff, volunteers, and board of directors are incredibly excited about the future,” explained Paul David, President of the Monk Botanical Gardens Board of Directors. “As we looked inward, our leadership team recognized the need to hear from additional community voices and look forward to what these new board members and an Executive Director will bring to the table moving forward.”
The nonprofit Gardens have been a “Happy Place” in the Wausau area for 21 years and have provided opportunities for education and community engagement across its expansive 30 acres. The new Executive Director will be joining the organization at a time of exciting growth as the Gardens is in the process of approving its capital improvement campaign; a project that will bring a new life and new visitors to the grounds.
Community members can learn more about the planned Garden Enhancements taking place by visiting the Monk Botanical Garden website here. Additionally, Monk Botanical Gardens is looking to grow its Board of Directors during this same period of time, bringing fresh perspectives into the organization.
